Horses

Horses are prey animals. This has a profound effect on their behavior, their immediate reaction to real or perceived danger being to get away as fast as possible regardless of what or who might be in their way. Distancing themselves from danger might involve anything from a swift leap sideways or backwards, to an all-out panicky gallop.
But horses are incredibly curious too and in these sculptures I depict that moment of tension, of cautious curiosity as he assesses an object, head straining, ears pricked, nervously investigating, poised in readiness to leap or flee, be it from a scorpion or sweet wrapper pretending to be a scorpion!
These sculptures are made of polymer clay and are available as cast bronze limited editions, signed, foundry stamped, dated and numbered.
