The Metal-Infused Series
Each piece is sculpted in my Kerry studio and cold-cast in the neighbouring town of Glengarriff, just over the Cork and Kerry mountains, by Rynhart Bronze. Real iron, bronze, silver and copper powders are mixed with high grade resin which results in sculptures which look like solid metal and have a pleasing weight.
Iron-Infused Cat
This iron-Infused Cat bridges the gap between organic grace and industrial material. The 'cold-casting' mould method reproduces precisely the delicate line of these understated, unfussy studies, from original clay to the timeless aesthetic of solid metal.

"Gill's bronze cats remind me of those of the ancient world. They are satisfyingly weighty, smooth and cool, these tactile qualities invite us to handle them as well as enjoying their good looks”

Last but by no means least in this collection of metal infused sculptures is the warmest of all, the Copper cat. This finish showcases the unique luminosity of copper, providing a striking contrast of deep shadows and bright, metallic highlights.
The Polymer Clay Originals
These original cat sculptures are mostly made during our long winters, in front of a roaring fire as the rain beats against the window of our mountain home. Photos of these Russian Greys cover the workbench, strips of freshly rolled out sculpy sit ready, dental tools at hand. In a matter of minutes they take form, in a month they are complete.
All of these cats are sculpted from studies of the 'Russian Grey' a beautiful breed, short haired, fine featured, lean and strong. Every cat is unique, each in a pose frozen in time, I love each and every one of them, I hope that you do too.
Hand-Sculpted Feline Original: Polymer Clay
This collection of original sculptures are hand made in polymer clay, sanded to a porcelain finish, signed, numbered and dated. I can also paint your cat/s a colour of your choice or a blend of colours as I did for Sally and Alan, please see below.
Here, variously portrayed: the supple twist, the straining reach, the taut stillness of the hunter, neat and tight, the superior gaze of a watchful cat.
Height: 3 inches approx.
Price: €150 each + P&P
Material: Polymer Clay, either painted on request (+€20), or unpainted as Russian Grey.
"I bought this pair of cats because I was struck by the depth of this sculptor's observation and her ability to reveal the lightness and innate grace of these exquisite creatures.
Anyone who has lived with and loved cats will recognize the fleeting moment held by each pose. Their two forms balance and compliment the other.
Serene and unhurried. Quizzical and deeply content. In other words, they are the very essence of a cat: Pleased and pleasing".

The Foundry-cast Bronze and Aluminium Collection: Limited Editions
The pinnacle of my studio’s work are my Bronze and Aluminium Collection cast in the traditional lost-wax method, by Lunts, the prestigious UK bronze foundry.
This is a study of an intense meeting, perhaps a domination game - King of the Castle? Both bodies are tense and frozen still, eyes locked, tail tips twitching. Who will make the first move?
'Cat Looking Up, Cat Looking Down' – Limited Edition Duo
Cast in bronze with a striking verdigris patina and a high wax finish, or in cast aluminium which is striking in bright light and visible even in a dark corner.
All pieces are signed and dated. Both come with a high finish oak plinth.
Height: 4 inches approx.
Price: €POA + P&P
Material: Verdigris Patinated Bronze or Aluminium

"On the physical plane, I love the way they feel, their weight, silky smoothness; the way the light accentuates the different parts of their bodies; the ripple of the muscle that seems just below the hard surface; the patina, the way they look poised for action and comfortably still at the same time.
On the emotional/spiritual/something else plane, these cats are a potent, but quiet presence. They are interesting and’ calming to look at. My mind wanders to what they’ll do next. That explains why they’ve never made it off the kitchen table near where I sit to email, etc. Right now, they share space with a solar powered prayer wheel and some nasturtium seeds that are drying for next year. I like them nearby".

"This two-piece verdigris bronze sculpture takes my breath away. There's something electric in the moment of connection between the cats, as if it's happening in real time. Even from a few metres away, you can sense tension in their bodies and fixity in the way their eyes interlock. As you go closer, the more alive they become. Every aspect of their attentiveness has been captured with extraordinary subtlety and precision. There is something rhythmic in the way they’ve been sculpted so that their beautiful contours flow towards each other. The mottle in the patina is exactly like rippling fur, giving them a mysterious glow. They have pride of place on our mantelpiece, and I often feel compelled to hold them because they are so smooth and have such a satisfying weight. They’ve been seen, held and greatly admired, by numerous friends and neighbours. Genius!"

Horses have featured in my life since I was a small child, I never owned one but I've drawn them, worked with them and now I sculpt them.
